With the economic situation still gloomy, increasing numbers of people have been resorting to food banks. Some argue this is a result of a steep rise in food poverty, but others insist it is not a matter of increased need or demand but one of supply. There is also disagreement about whether a stigma about being a charity case means some families are going hungry, or conversely, whether something has changed in our communities that makes some people more open than before to accepting charity.
