The View on the Streets: Ukraine

Ukraine thumb

As the situation in Ukraine worsens, volunteers ask the public what they make of politicians’ and the media’s portrayal of Russia as the source of evil and the big problem in the region. The responses are fascinating and suggest politicians and the media should listen to the public who are clearly not taken in by the West’s double standards. Western meddling and media bias are in fact now proving dangerous. Watch this video on the Citizen TV award site, register and vote 5* to help the charity win a monthly news award and produce further timely programmes which take the public seriously.

Once you have the map, head on over to the beach and get
the spanish doubloon, as well as the two iron bars (found in front of the left
barrel and the maraca). To be sure, all this relative warmth
is causing ski resort operators and winter weather diehards from the Rockies to the Blue Ridge (and everywhere
else) to cry foul, but for other businesses, namely those brick-and-mortar storefronts that
rely heavily on pedestrian foot traffic and commercial awnings and canopies to shield their customers from the elements, are the furthest from singing
the wintertime blues. Before each game you are offered a list of leaders to choose from or you can create your own leader.

Thanks for your handy post. In recent times, I have come to understand that the symptoms of mesothelioma cancer are caused by the particular build up of fluid between your lining on the lung and the chest muscles cavity. The disease may start within the chest area and pass on to other parts of the body. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include weight reduction, severe breathing in trouble, fever, difficulty taking in food, and swelling of the face and neck areas. It should be noted that some people living with the disease don’t experience just about any serious symptoms at all.

Thank you so much for this post. Really surprised how these people can keep sober in the circumstancies of severe attack against Russia taken by most of US and EU mass-media. Sometimes we feel here as if we were viewd as totally demons by the British and continental Europe. I have Russian friends living in North Ireland hwo became rusofobic watching TV and surfing the web :-) Greetings from Russia!

I would highly recommend viewers to watch this documentary and argue their own views on the topic because it is a similar issue that some countries are facing. We need to be aware and respond to way the media has portrayed the matter and how poorly the politicians are dealing with it.

Aneesa said:

It’s great to hear the public’s view on the issue in Ukraine and how they feel about the UK and US involvement in the matter. We get to see something other than the media’s biased portrayal of what they think.

Katie Gorse said:

Why don’t the BBC or Sky get such good interviews with the public? Do they even ask people on the street if they have opinions or do they just ask them an inane yes/no question? This vid seems to suggest it’s probably latter.

Oh brilliant. I am so glad to know that ordinary folk aren’t nearly so gullible as the press think they are.

I really enjoyed this and was amazed at how thoughtful people in East London are that’ll teach me to not think I’m so special!

Jace said:

I think views and opinions portrayed here are valid and sound arguments, it’s good to see so many people that go against the grain of the media and speak out against what is being portrayed by the newspapers and politicians.
I like what the people of London have to say on the Ukraine issue and can agree with a lot that is said, the topic is not so binary as to pick one or the other there is a lot more to be seen in between!

Mukthadir Ali said:

It is really good to get the public’s opinions across. Clearly people are against imperialism, they are saying this from their point of view. It can make a significant amount of change in the world, so it lets the superpowers know what they are talking about.

Craig said:

@Jon

Oh, wow, a ‘leading question’ from the interviewer after weeks and weeks of wall-to-wall anti-Russian/pro-American spin in our news, is sufficient enough to make the UK public say the exact opposite to what they’re thinking?

Jon said:

What a load of Lefty student rubbish, clearly leading the person being interviewed and seemly biased that the western media is bad and falling for the Russian propaganda that what is happening in the Ukraine is the Wests fault even though unmarked Russian troops are the ones causing trouble.

Karen Brown said:

I’m so glad that everyone is not taken in by the hate and lies spread by politicians and the western media relating to Ukraine and Russia. By demonising Russia they are doing to Russia what Hitler did to the Jews. Our media holds a position of great power, influencing our perception of the world around us, therefore it has a duty to the people. It has failed in this duty.

This is very good and I think I had let my dislike of Putin mean I turned a blind eye to Western double standards I think that is what happens and then of course with the West stepping in as they did everything becomes horrible. So how and where do I vote for this and I will?

Julie Perry said:

Yes you have just got a 5* vote from me to on Citizen TV-I’d like to see less biased reporting like this which treats the public properly get an award all power to your volunteers. Thank you.

Sandra K said:

Great, gosh sane voices made me think too especially as things now seem to be really kicking off in Ukraine maybe that is what happens when the West helps get rid of a democratically elected leader even if he was vile-things seem much worse now. You have just got a 5* vote from on the Citizen TV site, I hope more people vote for this video as it deserves an award plus more of this please.
