Vestas: Winds of change
In August Wind turbine manufacturers Vestas, confirmed it will cease production at the company’s site on the Isle of Wight. Up to 600 employees will lose their jobs and closure will have a devastating impact on the island. Refusing to accept their fate, a number of Vestas workers decided to occupy the factory in opposition to the closure. WORLDbytes visited the occupation during the first 24 hours to investigate.

Interesting how the environmentalists were out in force for the loss of these workers jobs yet won’t do that for other workers who are losing theirs as car manufacturing closes down or in the so called ‘dirty energy’ jobs.
