Having battled with acute leukaemia, Sara developed a keen interest in science, especially cancer research. Completely independently, Sara sought out a relevant research project and at the age of 14 completed a project to design a novel cancer treatment, for which she which she won a prize at the National Science and Engineering Competition and a trip to Phoenix, Arizona, where she represented the UK at the Intel ISEF Competition. Considering all that she has already accomplished at the age of 16, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Nobel Prize was in her future!
